The North Central Georgia PBA Chapter Endorses Candidates

The North Central Georgia PBA Chapter held a political screening on June 28, 2008 at the Barrow County Recreation Center in Winder, Georgia. All candidates for Piedmont Judicial Circuit District Attorney, Barrow County Sheriff, and Barrow County Chief Magistrate were sent invitations to appear in front of the chapter screening committee. The committee was made up of eight members from Barrow and Gwinnett Counties.

Three candidates for district attorney, two candidates for sheriff, and two candidates for chief magistrate scheduled appointments to meet with the screening committee. All were mailed questions in advance that were developed by the chapter based on issues of importance to the chapter membership. Each candidate was scored on their responses to the pre-determined questions and a recommendation was made to the chapter board of directors.

The chapter approved the committee's recommendation to endorse Brad Smith for District Attorney of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit and Murray Kogod for Sheriff of Barrow County. No endorsement was issued in the race for Chief Magistrate of Barrow County.
