The
Union County Sheriff’s Office has set up the “Scott
Harwell Recovery Fund” at First Financial Bank under
the account number 041601253309. Donations are also
accepted at the El Dorado Police Department and the
sheriff’s office. El Dorado Police Officer Scott Harwell, who has been on the force for a little over a year, was severely injured when an alleged drunk driver struck the back of his vehicle. Harwell, 35, was standing behind his unit after working a car/deer incident in front of the Power Zone gym when a Ford Escort driven by 24-year-old Tommy Ray Lacaze plowed into him, pinning the officer between Lacaze’s vehicle and his own. Blue lights were flashing at the time, according to PD sources. Harwell is in stable condition at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. |
